Men’s Recap (Women’s recap & results below):
Gentlemen,
The 2025 Ryder Cup was a tremendous success! A big thank-you to the committee members from both the Men’s and Women’s Associations for their collaboration in making this year’s event so enjoyable. The weather was perfect, the food and drinks were top-notch, and the camaraderie was even better. And yes—we played some great golf!
John Haley, along with his Co-Captain John Reagan took the White Lightning team out to an early lead after Saturday’s Alternate Shot and Fourball events, finishing the day ahead 81⁄2 to 51⁄2 over the Bluebirds, captained by Jean-Marc Dubois and Saik.
Although sidelined with a back injury, Jean-Marc showed true team spirit by attending both days to support his squad.
Sunday’s singles matches had 28 points up for grabs, and the Bluebirds came out swinging—winning the first three matches decisively and closing the gap quickly. But White Lightning responded with two strong wins of 31⁄2 points each, pushing the score to 20–18 with one match to go. In the final showdown, White Lightning edged out the Bluebirds 21⁄2 to 11⁄2, securing the 2025 Ryder Cup title with a final score of 221⁄2 to 191⁄2.
Sure, there were a few bumps along the way—but that’s all part of the fun and will help us make next year’s event even better.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we’ll see you on the course!
Best regards, Dave Barcomb – Ryder Cup Committee
Ladies,
It was another successful weekend for the 18th Annual Amy Fey Ryder Cup. Thank You to our captains, Red Team- Casey Vattimo, Kim Oppelt, Reenie Leonard & Blue Team- Sandy Dergurahian and Susan Murphy. Thanks to all the volunteers, registration, helping with the beverages and the snacks, making the posters and the art work for the invitation. We had perfect weather. Lots of fun, good food, some beverages and of course golf.
A lot of planning and moving parts for this tournament and the captains pulled it off once again this year. The Western Turnpike Women’s Association is lucky to have such a close knit membership and members willing to step up and chair tournaments such as these.
It was a pretty close competition with a final score of: Blue Team 31 – Red Team 28.
And the Blue Team turned in the most marked balls after the scramble which earned them a bonus point to bring the final score to Blue Team 32 – Red Team 28 but in the end just a bunch of friends enjoying the food and drinks while discussing the highlights of the two day tournament.
I am sure we are all looking forward to next year and the 19th Annual Amy Fey Ryder Cup so keep those red and blue shirts as you never know which team you will be drafted on.
